Research interests
My research interests include a quite wide range of problems related to linguistic typology. Some of the main topics are as follows:
- typology and areal typology of discourse particles of Europe and Asia
- the problem of the "word" and the boundaries of morphology and syntax in typology
- the distribution of genealogical and areal factors in the structure of languages ("distributive" typology)
- typology of the categories of verbs
- languages of the circum-Baltic area
- languages of the Mediterranean region and the Balkans
- areal phenomena in northern Eurasia
- Buryat language
- Greek language and dialects
- Romance languages and Latin language
