Graduated from Russian State University for the Humanities, Faculty of Theory and Practice Of Linguistics, in 1999 with a degree in "Theoretical and Applied Linguistics".
Defended his PhD thesis "Reconstruction of the Proto-Altaic grammatical case" in 2002.
Teaching and educational outreach
Has served as a teacher and an instructor since 1998, in various educational facilities and programmes, among which are:
- Higher School of Economics (Mongolian language, Turkish language)
- Russian State University for the Humanities (Theoretical Phonology of the Mongolian language, Theoretical Grammar of the Mongolian language, Comparative Grammar of Mongolic languages, Introduction to the Altaic studies, Introduction to the Mongolic studies, Historical Grammar of the Mongolian language, Ancient Greek language)
- Middle school programmes, classes for adults (Church Slavonic language, Old Slavonic language)
- Berendeevy polyany Summer camp for middle and high school students (linguistics section) (2009-2019)
Fieldwork
- 1996 – Field survey of the Crimean Tatar language (Krasnodar Krai, Taman vicinities)
- 2012, 2013, 2015, 2019 – Folkloric and linguistic field surveys in Mongolia (Khalkha Mongol, Olot, Zakhchin, Myangad, Khamningan ethnicities).
- 2014 – Folkloric and linguistic field survey in the Inner Mongolia region, PRC (Khamningan, Daur, Khalkha, Chahars, Barga Mongol ethnicities).
- 2017 – Linguistic field survey in the Tibetan Prefecture of Gansu Province, PRC (Dongxiang and Bonan ethnicities).
