Tatiana Yanko

Head of Section of Theoretical Linguistics

PhD, Dr.habil.

Tatyana Yanko specializes in the communicative structure of sentences, prosody, semantics, lexicography, aspectology, linguistic database software, instrumental analysis of speech.

In 1976, Tatyana graduated from the Department of Structural and Applied Linguistics of the Lomonosov Faculty of Philology. In 1988, she did her Ph.D. thesis «Modeli perevoda s estestvennogo jazyka na jazyk baz dannyx» [Models of Translation from Natural Language into Database Language].
In 1999, Tatiana Yanko did her Dr.habil. thesis «Kommunikativnye strategii i kommunikativnye struktury» [Communication strategies and communication structures].

Tatyana Yanko is the author of more than 180 scientific articles and 2 monographs «Kommunikativnye strategii russkoj reči. M. JaSK. 2001. 384 s.» [Communicative Strategies of Russian Speech] and «Intonacionnye strategii russkoj reči v sopostavitel’nom aspekte. M. JaSK. 2008. 312 s.» [Intonational strategies of Russian speech in a comparative aspect].

Yanko's articles are published in leading editions: the series «Logičeskij analiz jazyka», «Dialog-21». Her scientific researches got financial support from foundations: INTAS, Russian Foundation for Humanities, RSF, The Russian Foundation for Basic Research.
