Tatyana Mikhailova

Leading Researcher, Section of Anatolian and Celtic languages

PhD, Dr.habil., Prof.

Employed at the Institute of Linguistics since 2003.

1979 – Faculty of Philology at the Lomonosov Moscow State University, a degree in "Romanic Philology".

From the first year of studies, Tatiana was interested in the culture of the Celts and their language. In the beginning, she studied Old Norse, Middle Welsh and Modern Irish by herself, then under the guidance of A.Korolev, V.Kalygin and G.Bannister (Ireland). After postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Philology, N.Chemodanov invited her to teach Irish at the Department of German Linguistics.

Now Tatyana Mihailova is a professor at the Department of Germanic and Celtic Philology at the Philological Faculty of Moscow State University. An Associate Professor at the Department of Irish Language and Celtic Philology, University of Ulster (Northern Ireland).
1996 – 2014 – Professor of the Department of Ancient Languages, Institute of Linguistics, Russian State University for the Humanities.

Tatyana Mihailova is the author of more than 400 scientific and educational works. She also does scientific translations (from English, French, Old Norse and Modern Irish).

Tatyana Mikhailova is also a co-chairman of the international Celto-Slavica society (established in 2004).

Member of the editorial board of the journals "Problems of Language Relationship" and "Atlantic. Notes on Historical Poetics".
