Our reviewers are established researchers with specialist expertise, knowledge, and experience. We review all the manuscripts falling within the focus of Jazykoznanie and meeting its requirements.
1. At the pre-evaluation stage, manuscripts are sent to the editorial board who determine within 20 days whether the work meets the priorities of Jazykoznanie. Afterwards, the author is notified whether the manuscript has been accepted for review or rejected as failing to fulfil our requirements. If the decision is positive, the work is sent to the reviewers selected for their expertise in the study area.
2. Manuscripts are subject to double-blind peer review by at least two referees. Jazykoznanie aims to complete reviewing in under 90 days.
3. You can append a list of persons with whom a conflict of interest may be expected due to competition or cooperation. We will consider this information when selecting the referees.
4. All the referees follow the principles formulated by the Committee on Publication Ethics.
When evaluating manuscripts, reviewers take into account the following aspects:
- relevance of the manuscript, its consistency with the state of research;
- appropriateness of the methods employed;
- the depth of analysis and quality of findings;
- readability in terms of language, style, layout, etc.;
- shortcomings of the manuscript, if any, that could be developed or corrected by the author;
5. The editorial board considers peer review results to make the final decision: accept, accept with revisions, revise and resubmit, reject.
6. Referees are informed that the submitted manuscripts are the property of the authors and contain non-public information.
