The Institute of Linguistics is co-hosting the International Congress of Linguists (ICL21) from 25 June to 2 July 2023. This will be the first time for this high-profile event in linguistics to be held in Russia.
The Institute of Linguistics, Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow, Russia) is organizing an international conference “Linguistic Forum 2020: Language and Artificial Intelligence” to be held November 12-14, 2020. This conference is part of a series of annual linguistic forums initiated by the Institute of Linguistics RAS in 2019 each dedicated to a socially important aspect of the science of language. The 2019 forum took as its topic the UN Year of Indigenous Languages.
On May 25–28, 2021 15th International African Studies Conference will be held in Moscow by the Institute for African studies RAS.

Institute of Linguistics RAS is organising the 2nd conference on language contact in the circumpolar world with a special session on typology of linguistic areas. The conference will be held on 25–27 October 2019 in Moscow, Russia.
On 23–24 October 2019, the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow) organizes a conference on “Caucasian Languages: Typology and Diachrony”, in honor of the eminent Russian Caucasiologist Mikhail Egorovich Alekseev, who would have turned 70 this year.
The 9th conference in the series «Typology of Morphosyntactic Parameters», TMP 2019, will be held in Moscow on 16–18 October 2019. The conference is organized by the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute, the Institute of Linguistics of RAS and Lomonosov Moscow State University.
Lyon, April 15–17 2019. The conference aims to provide a forum for linguists and anthropologists to discuss issues concerning small-scale multilingualism (Lüpke 2016, Singer & Harris 2016), which is typical for pre-colonial societies with small socio-political groups. The aim of the conference is to develop a set of parameters for comparing different sociolinguistic settings across the world.
