Chief researcher at Russian Language Institute and Institute of Linguistics of RAS, affiliate professor at Stockholm University (department of Slavic studies).

Graduated from Leipzig University in 1978, PhD thesis «Phraseologisch gebundene lexikalische Elemente der deutschen Gegenwartssprache», Dr.habil. thesis «Fundamentals of structural and typological analysis of the phraseology in modern Germanic languages: based on German, English, and Dutch data». 

Specialist in the field of lexical semantics, lexicography, theory of phraseology and corpus linguistics. Author of numerous articles and monographs related to topical issues of modern phraseology and contrastive linguistics. The author and supervisor of projects on compiling dictionaries and text corpora of different types.

Participant of international projects, including the ones at Humboldt University of Berlin and at the Austrian Academy of Sciences. Expert at research foundations, member of the editorial board in a number of journals. 

Was awarded an honorary degree at Sorbonne and Stockholm University.
