Research interests
Field linguistics, socioliguistics, corpus linguistics, linguistic typology, documentation of endangered languages, visual anthropology, minority languages of Siberia, particularly Samoyedic, Tungusic, and Yeniseian languages.
Language proficiency: English, German, French, Selkup (fluent), Evenki (conversational), Ket (will need a dictionary), Spanish (basic knowledge).
Working experience with languages: Selkup, Evenki, Ket, Orok, Dolgan, Forest Nenets.

Projects supported by research foundations
Ten research projects and two information system establishment projects have been implemented under Olga Kazakevich’s management since 1995. Her research has been supported by grants from RSS, Russian Foundation for Basic Research, and Russian Foundation for Humanities. The projects have been mostly concerned with documentation and research of endangered languages. 33 expeditions to Siberia, Russian Far East, and Sakhalin were organized over this period of time. 60 localities were explored, and materials of Selkup, Evenki, Ket, Orok, Dolgan, Forest Nenets languages were documented, thus making up a multimedia linguistic archive of Laboratory for Computational Lexicography on minority languages of Siberia. Also, a website called 'Minority languages of Siberia: our cultural heritage' was created and given a public award in 2018.
Currently is managing the project of Russian Foundation for Basic Research 20-012-00520 'Dynamics of the development of the language situation in local groups of indigenous peoples of Siberia and Russian Far East based on linguistic biographies'.
Publications
The number of published works is over 300, including 10 monographs, 1 handbook for universities recommended by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation (co-authored).
Over the part 5 years 68 works have been published, including 3 monographs (co-authored), 3 articles in journals, 25 articles in collections.
