Alexander Kaganov was born in Moscow on January 23, 1946. He graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute (1971) and the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (1975).
In 1983 obtained a PhD in Technology. In 1993 was appointed Senior Researcher.
Alexander Kaganov specializes in the forensic aspects of Applied Linguistics. His research interests are the development of methods for forensic identification of a person by voice and sounding speech, research of biometric characteristics of articulation organs and functional-dynamic complexes of oral skills, analysis of prosodic and spectral characteristics of a speech signal.
He is an expert at the Forensic Department of the 111th Main state Center forensic and criminological examinations of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
A member of the Union "Chamber of judicial experts named after Yury Koruhov."
