On April 6 , Institute of Linguistics RAS will hold the first Moscow LFG Meeting (M-LFG). This mini-conference is inspired by the annual South of England LFG Meetings (SE-LFG), and our aim is to provide an opportunity for linguists based in Moscow who are working in LFG — mainly undergraduate and graduate students — to present and discuss their work in an informal and friendly environment. Therefore we welcome preliminary and unfinished work and provide ample time for discussion.
The Research Center on Ethnic and Language Relations of the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences is pleased to announce the conference “Trends in the Linguistic Development of Multiethnic Countries: from Forecasting to Language Planning”, which will be held at the Institute of Linguistics (Russian Academy of Sciences), Moscow, on 6–7 December 2023.
This collection comprises thirty-six articles by the renowned Soviet and Russian linguist, academician Vladimir Alpatov, published over the last three decades of the 20th century. These articles represent Alpatov's main scientific pursuits, including Japanese studies, typology and theory of language, sociolinguistics, and history of linguistics. The final section of the collection, titled Linguistic Problems, features a set of problems composed by Vladimir Alpatov for linguistic Olympiads.

The international conference "Linguistic Forum 2022: Traditional speech forms and practices" will be held at the Institute of Linguistics, RAS, on November 17–19, 2022. The conference is part of a series of annual linguistic forums initiated by the Institute of Linguistics RAS in 2019, each dedicated to a socially important aspect of the scientific study of language.
On 19 April, 2022 at 4:00 pm Moscow time (UTC+3) the 17th session of Analytics and Discussion Club on Language Policy will be held online. The program includes a talk by Denny Moore: Language Endangerment and Documentation in Brazil.
On 5 April 2020, the international conference "Lingua Gotica: New Studies" will be held.
The Institute of Linguistics is co-hosting the International Congress of Linguists (ICL21) from 25 June to 2 July 2023. This will be the first time for this high-profile event in linguistics to be held in Russia.
