On April 6, 2024, Institute of Linguistics RAS held the first Moscow LFG Meeting (M-LFG), a mini-conference inspired by the annual South of England LFG Meetings (SE-LFG). Videos of the talks presented at the conference are available here.
The Institute of Linguistics (Russian Academy of Sciences) is pleased to announce the 10th conference “Language issues: a young scholars’ perspective”, which will be held in hybrid format on 24–26 April 2024.
On April 6 , Institute of Linguistics RAS will hold the first Moscow LFG Meeting (M-LFG). This mini-conference is inspired by the annual South of England LFG Meetings (SE-LFG), and our aim is to provide an opportunity for linguists based in Moscow who are working in LFG — mainly undergraduate and graduate students — to present and discuss their work in an informal and friendly environment. Therefore we welcome preliminary and unfinished work and provide ample time for discussion.
The Research Center on Ethnic and Language Relations of the Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Sciences is pleased to announce the conference “Trends in the Linguistic Development of Multiethnic Countries: from Forecasting to Language Planning”, which will be held at the Institute of Linguistics (Russian Academy of Sciences), Moscow, on 6–7 December 2023.
Moscow will host the 1st Eurasian Congress of Linguists on December 9-13, 2024. A major international forum, organized on the initiative of the Institute of Linguistics RAS with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Congress is one in a series of academic activities to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).
This collection comprises thirty-six articles by the renowned Soviet and Russian linguist, academician Vladimir Alpatov, published over the last three decades of the 20th century. These articles represent Alpatov's main scientific pursuits, including Japanese studies, typology and theory of language, sociolinguistics, and history of linguistics. The final section of the collection, titled Linguistic Problems, features a set of problems composed by Vladimir Alpatov for linguistic Olympiads.
