Moscow will host the 1st Eurasian Congress of Linguists on December 9-13, 2024. A major international forum, organized on the initiative of the Institute of Linguistics RAS with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Congress is one in a series of academic activities to commemorate the 300th anniversary of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).
The mission of the Congress is to provide a venue where linguists from all over the world could share the results of their research and present their findings addressing the most topical issues of language studies. One of the objectives of the Congress is to introduce young scholars to the latest advances in the language sciences in all their diversity. Broader audiences will be able to enjoy public discussions on socially important aspects of linguistics during the Congress as well.

Structure of the Congress
The Congress will feature 8 plenary lectures, 18 parallel oral sessions, 10 parallel round tables, and two large poster sessions.
Parallel oral sessions cover the main subject matter of linguistics, including all language groups in Eurasia and other regions as well as general problems of linguistics. Oral presentations are limited to 25 minutes, including discussion. Parallel oral sessions will be focused around the following areas of research:
- Language diversity and variation: diachronic, typological and areal aspects
- Language theory from phonetics to pragmatics
- Spoken language and multichannel communication
- Psycho- and neurolinguistics
- Computational linguistics and artificial intelligence
- Sociolinguistics
- Indo-European languages of Europe
- Russian language
- Turkic languages
- Languages of the Caucasus
- Iranian languages
- Semitic languages
- Languages of South Asia
- Uralic languages
- Languages of Siberia, the North, the Far East of Russia and adjacent areas
- Languages of China and Southeast Asia
- Languages of Africa
- General (other topics of interest for linguistics, including languages of other areas)
Poster sessions will be organized according to the same areas as oral ones. Applicants may select the Poster Session option right at registration. Each poster session will last for 2 hours.
We also announce a call for round tables. The winners will be delegated the right to choose their round table presenters. Individual round table presentations will be limited to 20 minutes.
Congress Format
The Congress will be held in the form of a traditional in-person event. The organizers plan to cover the travel and accommodation expenses for presenters traveling from other cities and countries.
Congress Languages
Working languages: English and Russian. Simultaneous interpretation will be provided for plenary talks, oral sessions, and round tables. Plenary lectures will be accompanied by sign language interpretation (Russian SL and/or International Sign).
Call for Abstracts
The deadline for submitting abstracts for the oral and poster sessions as well as the proposals for round tables is June 30. For more details see the submission guidelines.

Congress participants are invited to enjoy linguistics-related exhibitions, as well as other cultural activities.
