Polina Dambueva

Leading Researcher, Department of Ural-Altaic Languages

PhD, Dr.habil.

Employed at the Institute of Linguistics since 2004.

1973  – graduated from high school in Irkutsk.
1977 – graduated from the Buryat Pedagogical Institute. She began her career in School No 48 in Ulan-Ude.
1994 – worked at the Department of Russian-Buryat Philology, Buryat State University, then entered the postgraduate course of the Institute of Mongolian Studies, Buddhist Studies and Tibetan Studies at the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Ulan-Ude).
1994 – Ph.D. thesis Comparative typological study of the category of modality in the modern Buryat and Russian languages, 2001 – Dr.habil. thesis Category of modality in the Buryat language.
2004 – she has become the Leading Researcher at the Department of the Ural-Altai languages. Deputy Chairperson of the Dissertation Council D 002.006.01. Honoured Scientist of the Republic of Buryatia (2007).
