GUIDELINES TO PREPARING AND SUBMITTING A MANUSCRIPT
The manuscript file should be supplied as a Word document to the e-mail address of the editorial board editorial-vpl@yandex.ru. The name of the file should look like this: Author’s name_Article. The total volume of the text should be no more then 40,000 characters.
The text should be well proofread. Please mind that manuscripts containing errors and misprints are not accepted for review and publication.
Authors submitting their manuscripts to the editorial office of the journal must follow the Publishing Ethics of the Journal (see the section on Authors’ Responsibilities). The journal is using “ANTIPLAGIAT” software for plagiarism detection. When unauthorized borrowings are identified, as well as a low coefficient of text originality (<85%), the manuscript is rejected from publication.
Reviews and other articles that, for objective reasons, require more citations, are considered by the editors on an individual basis. Authors are encouraged to check the originality of their texts by the “Antiplagiat. Expert” software themselves before submitting the manuscript.
More detailed guidelines and samples are available at this link.
The manuscript may be rejected by the editor on the stage prior to peer-review for a solid reason (the topic of the article does not correspond to the topic of the journal; the article is obviously of low scientific quality or contains a large number of errors and misprints; in the submitted materials, a fundamental contradiction to the Publishing Ethics of the Journal was detected).
The editor transmits all the submitted manuscripts which were not rejected according to the reasons stated below for peer-review. The editor chooses the reviewers out of the most competent specialists on the topic of the article. The reviewer of an article cannot be from the same scientific or educational institutions as the author of the article. The journal operates a single-blind peer review – authorship of submitted papers must be clearly indicated, while the anonymity of reviewers is preserved. The breach of confidentiality is possible if the reviewer has found some falsification of the materials in the article.
We aim to limit the review process to 2 months, though in some cases the schedule may be adjusted at the reviewer’s request. Upon the scrutiny, the reviewer is expected to present the editorial board with one of the following recommendations:
1 – to accept the paper in its present state;
2 – to invite the author to make minor changes in the text in accordance with the comments of the reviewer (re-review is not required);
3 – the author has to make significant changes in the text in accordance with the comments of the reviewer (re-review is required);
4 – to reject the manuscript outright due to a low scientific quality of the article.
5 – to reject the manuscript since it does not fit the scope of the journal.
If the reviewer has recommended any refinements, the editorial staff would suggest the author either to implement the corrections, or to dispute them reasonably. Authors are kindly required to limit their revision to 2 months and resubmit the adapted manuscript within this period for final evaluation. We kindly request that the editor be notified verbally or in writing should the author decide to refuse from publishing the manuscript.
If author and reviewers meet insoluble contradictions regarding revision of the manuscript, the chief editor resolves the conflict by his own authority. Upon the decision to accept the manuscript for publishing, the editorial staff notifies the authors of the scheduled date of publication.
