Orientalist and philologist:
1971 – graduated from the Institute of Oriental Languages, Lomonosov Moscow State University (now the Institue of Asian and African Countries), specializing in Persian language and literature.
1975-1978 – graduated from the post-graduate school of the Institute of Linguistics, RAS, specializing in the Proto-Iranian languages, taught by Alabaeva. PhD thesis "Verbal Bases of Avestan and Sogdian Languages (comparative analysis)" [Kandidatskaja dissertacija Glagolnye osnovy avestijskogo i sogdijskogo jazykov (sravnitelnyj analiz)] (1982).
1971-1975, she was working as a Dari interpreter in the Oil and the Gas College in Mazar-i-Sharif, Afganistan.
Since 1978, Vinogradova has been a full member of the RAS.

Academic Interests are connected with the general subject of her works in the Section of Iranian Languages. Mainly with the comparative historical aspect in typological, dialectical, geographical, socio-linguistic, ethnolinguistic, etc research dedicated to Iranian languages in historical dynamics. Later, the interest expanded on more topical problems of all endangered Iranian languages including unwritten ones. The materials of linguistic expeditions to Pakistan in 2011 and to Iran 2006-2013, in which she participated, appeared to be the ground for several articles written with Dodyhudoeva, Ivanov, Lashkarbekov, and other expedition members.

The main focus of the research field is the Avestan language and texts written in it. She studies not only linguistic but also extralinguistic questions about the dialects and the setting in which they were created.
