Within the conference agenda, a Round Table will be held on “Bear stories from around the world”.
It will include presentations analysing traditional speech forms and practices as revealed in texts – in various minority languages and from diverse cultural communities – about the role of bears in human life, the relationship between bears and humans, human attitudes to bears, rituals associated with bears, etc.
The focus of the Round Table, as well as of the entire Forum, will include both the modern languages of Russia as well as other languages, including those which are now extinct.
Specific research questions will generally coincide with the issues addressed by the Forum. Both at the Forum as a whole and at the Round Table, attention will highlight the linguistic aspects of traditional speech forms and practices.
